Fans are sending their prayers and well-wishes to country icon Clint Black. The 64-year-old singer was scheduled to perform in Mississippi this weekend, but he abruptly canceled due to a medical emergency, according to a statement on his official Instagram account.
The singer is in the middle of his Back on the Blacktop Tour. He performed in Gadsden, Alabama, on June 25 and Hiawassee, Georgia, on June 26. He was slated to return to the stage on July 3 at the Pearl River Resort Casino in Choctaw, Mississippi.
The statement explains that the appearance has been canceled due to a “medical emergency.” “Clint was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with infected tonsils requiring emergency intravenous treatment,” according to the message.
“Clint is on the mend and will make a full recovery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital later this week. Clint and his management team sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this cancellation may cause. All tickets will be fully refunded from the original point of purchase.”
Fans flooded the Instagram post with thoughtful messages. “Praying for a quick and complete recovery,” one wrote. Another added, “I hope you feel better soon. We love you, listen to your doctor.”
His next concert is scheduled for July 9 in Minden, Nevada. His tour continues with dates into November. We’re hoping he takes all the time he needs to rest and fully recover.
