It’s no secret that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting married. And while the couple tried to keep their nuptials under wraps throughout planning, now details are emerging every day leading up to the expected Friday, July 3, wedding extravaganza—including a special performance by a certain country star.
Let’s back up. Taylor and Travis announced their engagement to the public on August 26, 2025. Taylor being Taylor, it’s likely that wedding preparations began shortly thereafter. Over the past 10 months, rumors of what those preparations might be began to circulate, but it wasn’t until the past month that details began to firm up—at least, according to celebrity gossip sites.
First, on June 5, TMZ revealed that, to fans’ shock, Taylor and Travis have decided to forgo a traditional wedding reception in favor of a massive celebration at Madison Square Garden, where more than 1,000 guests are expected to attend. Then, on June 27, Page Six shared that Stevie Nicks and the one and only Tim McGraw (who inspired Taylor’s debut single in 2006) will be performing during the highly anticipated celebration.
As details continue to emerge, and knowing that Taylor and Travis supposedly made their guests sign ironclad nondisclosure agreements, banning them from sharing any details about their big day, it’s hard to know what’s true and what’s merely wishful thinking. With that in mind, we did some digging to see just how likely it is that Tim will actually be part of America’s royal couple’s wedding festivities.
Is Tim McGraw Performing at Taylor Swift’s Wedding?
According to Tim’s tour schedule, his next “Pawn Shop Guitar Tour” show is on July 9 in Bethel, New York, with shows following in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. That said, Tim is also listed as a performer for Disney Celebrates America: Nashville's Star-Spangled Bash, scheduled for Saturday, July 4. On the event poster, Tim’s name is last on the list, which could point to a later set time, which could, in theory, make it easy (or rather, possible, given how late and raucous the night is expected to go) for the 59-year-old country star to jet-set between Manhattan and Nashville.
While that possibility looms in the near future, eagle-eyed fans are scouring the web for any and all Easter eggs that could point to Tim’s performance at Taylor’s wedding. After all, the 36-year-old pop star did wear a Stevie Knicks shirt to Game 4 of the NBA Championship. With that in mind, the most prominent clue is that this year marks the 20th anniversary of Taylor’s debut album—and hit “Tim McGraw”—and many are connecting her new song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” to a return to the past and a sense of feeling perfectly at home. While the lyrics alone call to mind nostalgia for the past, the ability to pick up where you left off, and full-circle moments, so does her outfit choice for her new Tay Story 5 song, which closely resembles the yellow floral-print dress she wore in the promotional images for Taylor Swift.
As hopeful as we are for a Tim McGraw performance, chances are, we won’t even see it given the NDAs—that is, unless Taylor has a plan to film and stream the celebration thereafter. As spectacular as Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was, filming her wedding doesn’t seem like something Taylor would do—many believe that she’s far too whimsical and romantic for that.
“Something this big and lavish is somewhat antithetical to what those closest to her would have imagined for her wedding,” a source somewhat close to Taylor told Page Six. “And that’s why many feel the MSG event will be a celebration of marriage that will have already occurred.”
Which is all to say, congratulations may already be in order for Taylor and Travis. It wouldn’t be unheard of, as the couple didn’t announce their engagement until weeks after it had actually happened.
Whatever the case may be, we couldn’t be happier for Taylor and Travis—and for the potential of a Tim McGraw reunion on the big day.
